
Baltimore Mariners Brown Named Defensive Player of the Week

BALTIMORE, MD (March 9, 2010) - Baltimore's Melik Brown, playing in his first game for the Mariners, was named the VidSwap.com American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Mariners 55-48 win over the Harrisburg Stampede in week one of AIFA play.
The 6'2", 275 pound defensive lineman spent 2009 with the Stampede before signing with the Mariners in the off-season. Suiting up for Baltimore for the first time, Brown made an instant impact on the Mariners' defense. Applying constant pressure on Harrisburg's backfield, the former North Carolina Tar heel, totaled 4.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 2.5 tackles for a loss from his defensive line position.
