Norfolk SharX News Release

Baltimore, Maryland - On January 12, the Norfolk SharX broke Baltimore's five game winning streak by beating the Blast 17-12 and on Saturday night the Blast returned the favor breaking the SharX two-game streak by winning the return match 18-2.

Baltimore scored the first four points of the game with goals by Pat Healy and Ricardinho to go up 4-0 but Norfolk's Matthew Delicate got the SharX on the board with less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter with an assist by Miguel Ferrer to keep it close and the period ended 4-2. The SharX were even up on shots 4-3.

But that's when the game ended for Norfolk (3-12). The SharX could not find another point at 1st Mariner Arena and couldn't stop Baltimore (11-4) from scoring, allowing six points in the second period, two points in the third and another six in the final quarter. The Blast outshot the SharX 20-15 for the match and Max Ferdinand had seven points for Baltimore.

"We came up against a team who was very good tonight and I give Baltimore a lot of credit," said head coach Jon Hall. "We had too many players who played poorly and we can't hide from that. We just need to dust ourselves and make up for it and we have an opportunity to do that tomorrow at home against Missouri."

The SharX do indeed get the chance to turn things around immediately when they host the Comets Saturday night, January 21, at Norfolk Scope Arena at 7 p.m. All tickets are $2 off at the Scope Box Office or online at www.norfolksharx.com by using code JAWS5.
