Lancers to Battle Thruway Rival Syracuse

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Lancers will travel to face the Syracuse Silver Knights in a Thruway matchup on Saturday, January 21 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Rochester and Syracuse have squared off four times previously this season with the Lancers winning three. Saturday proves to be a critical match for both teams as each trail Eastern Division leader Baltimore by 4.5 games. More importantly the two sides are battling each other for the second postseason slot behind the Blast.

Jeffrey Hughes and Slavisa Ubiparapovic lead the Silver Knights offensively with 42 points each, good for fourth in MISL scoring. Rochester meanwhile is paced by Mauricio Salles who ranks second with 52 points and Doug Miller, who remains tied for fourth with Hughes and Ubiparapovic.

Rochester is 1-1 on the road in Syracuse this season. They dropped the season opener 16-15 in heartbreaking fashion in the final thirty seconds of regulation before rebounding to win the second match at the Oncenter War Memorial convincingly by a score of 22-13.

Individual game tickets for all Rochester Lancer home games are still available and start at $10 for adults, and children age 12 and under receive free entry for every regular season home game.
