North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Earlier this week Coach Dave Boitz said a balanced scoring attack would be a key to victory and for the second night in a row, he got just that. Three different lines scored, including his checking line talling a goal for the second night in a row, leading the Outlaws to victory 3-0 in front of Robby Moss. The Outlaws killed off 6 penalties and battled hard all night long to pick up their 15th straight against Bismarck.
For the second night in a row the Outlaws scored the first goal of the contest and held the 1-0 lead at the end of the first period. With just under two minutes to play in the period, the OUtlaws came away with a 2-on-1 with Trevor Doden leading the rush. The forward from Red Wing, MN dished the puck off to Tyler Romasco and who let the shot fly. As the rebound dropped behind the net, Romasco got a stick on the loose puck, sending it bouncing to the front of the net where Joe Harcharik cleaned up the garbage in front of the net for the 1-0 lead.
The second period saw the Cats outshoot the Outlaws 11-4 but Moss kept everything in front of him and kept North Iowa on top 1-0. In the third period, the Outlaws got another goal for their checking line, as Larry Kincaid found Derek Donohue on a 2-on-1 which the Wisconsin native Donohue converted for his first career goal. Alex Carlson added an empty net goal late that added to the 3-0 final.
Robby Moss made a successful weekend of his return to the spot of his injury, winning both and shutting out the Bobcats with a 30 + save evening. The Outlaws and Bobcats haven't seen the last of each other either, with two more meetings scheduled for Thursday and Friday night at the North Iowa Ice Arena.
