Bakersfield's Trey Johnson Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2010 - Trey Johnson of the Bakersfield Jam was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 6.
A 6-5, 215-pound guard out of Jackson State who earned two GATORADE Call-Ups to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008-09, Johnson led Bakersfield to a 3-0 record on the week, averaging 26.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists.
Johnson had 18 points and 11 assists in the Jam's 123-94 win over Idaho on Monday, Dec. 6. He followed with a 27-point performance in Bakersfield's 124-95 win against Dakota on Friday, Dec. 10, and finished the week by scoring a game-high 34 points to lead the Jam to a sweep of the Wizards with a 103-94 win on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Other top performers earning honorable mention were Austin's Marcus Cousin, who averaged 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds, and Lance Thomas, who averaged 15.7 points and 5.3 rebounds, in three games; Erie's Cedric Jackson, who averaged 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists in three games; Fort Wayne's Darnell Lazare, who averaged 26.5 points and 10.0 rebounds, and Walker Russell, who averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists, in two games; Idaho's Luke Babbitt, who averaged 19.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games; Iowa's Othyus Jeffers, who averaged 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games; Maine's DeShawn Sims, who averaged 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games; New Mexico's Alan Anderson, who averaged 18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists, and Shane Edwards, who averaged 21.5 points and 6.8 rebounds, in four games; Reno's Patrick Ewing Jr., who averaged 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two games; Rio Grande Valley's Patrick Patterson, who averaged 21.0 points and 13.3 rebounds, and Jerel McNeal, who averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, in four games; and Texas' Sean Williams, who averaged 19.0 points and 16.5 rebounds in two games.
