Colorado 14ers News Release

DENVER, March 21 - The Bakersfield Jam ended a seven game losing streak with a 130-118 victory at Colorado on Wednesday night. The Jam improves to 14-29 with the win, while the 14ers fall to 27-16 with the loss.

Scooter McFagdon stole the show, setting a new Broomfield Event Center scoring record with 48 points in the Bakersfield win. He went 13-20 from the field and 22-23 from the free throw in setting his new season high.

"The biggest key tonight was Scooter McFagdon. He came up with 48 points and had a great, great, shooting night," said Jam coach Jim Harrick. "We've been working with him on not just being an outside shooter, but going to the rim and being aggressive and he got off tonight."

Bakersfield took a 56-54 advantage to the locker room at halftime before opening up the game in the third quarter. McFagdon and Patrick O'Bryant combined to go a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line and score 20 points in the period as the Jam built a seven point lead.

Mateen Cleaves then controlled the tempo in the fourth quarter while putting up big numbers for the Jam in the win. The point guard scored 15 points on six of seven shooting, and dished out 14 assists on the night before being ejected after two technical fouls in the fourth quarter. Tamar Slay and Brandon Bowman also chipped in 17 points apiece in the victory.

Colorado was led by Pooh Jeter's 26 points and seven assists in the loss. Mike Harris came off the bench to score 18 points and pull down 15 rebounds, while Elton Brown posted another double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
