Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators snapped a seven-game skid on Sunday, as rookie netminder Brian Elliott made 38 saves to lead the B-Sens past the Syracuse Crunch by a 4-1 final. The Senators got points from ten different players, include the first professional goal for Tomas Kudelka.
Bobby Robins put Binghamton on the scoreboard with his seventh tally of the year. Robins took the feed from Arttu Luttinen and worked across the crease from left to right, he gathered two rebounds and put the third shot past Thomas Popperle with a backhand scoop.
Seven minutes later, rookie defenseman Tomas Kudelka buried his first professional marker. Kudelka took a Terry Virtue pass and smashed it from just inside the blue line over the blocker of Popperle to give the Senators a two-goal advantage.
The Crunch responded with a power-play marker at 7:29 of the second period off the stick of Tomas Kloucek.
The Senators once again extended the lead to two goals when Mike Sgroi found Jamie Allison for the captain's second tally of the year. Sgroi advanced into the Syracuse zone along the boards, stopping and sending a cross-ice pass to Allison who beat Popperle stick-side.
Andrew Ebbett added a late-empty netter, his 24th of the year, for the Senators fourth tally.
