B-52s Remain Perfect Over Illinois

January 21, 2014 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Wichita B-52s News Release

The B-52s continued their domination over Illinois on Saturday night with an 11-5 victory at Hartman Arena. The win marks 3 for 3 for Wichita over Illinois this season, and the B-52s' 4th win in their last 5 home games. The B-52s are now 6 and 6 in all competitions.

The night started out perfect for Wichita with Cordoves, L. Martinez, and Lawter (2) giving Wichita a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Pittman gave the B-52s a boost, as he announced an early return from injury with two goals of his own. Clare regained his goal-scoring form and led the night with four goals, his second being the 50th B-52 goal at Hartman Arena! Wichita's defense displayed great organization and strength, until the fourth quarter when Illinois rallied for four goals. The rally proved not enough, though, as the B-52s earned the win.

"We are very excited about our win against Illinois tonight. We implemented a game plan in training this week, and the players executed it very well. I am very proud of them and their effort as a team, and their ability to win their individual battles on both ends of the field tonight. It is no secret that we are a hard working team with a lot of heart and a lot of faith in each other. It is these attributes that will enable us to keep improving for the remainder of the season. We will enjoy this win for a short while, and then begin preparing for Tulsa." -Coach Inlow

Special thank you to Chris Lemons and Casey Barton for sharing their testimonies before the game, and to 90.7 WAY-FM, Zimbabwe Orphans Program, Healing Hands, and everyone who came out and helped make Faith and Family Night possible!
