Minnesota Axemen News Release

Bemidji, MN - The Bemidji Axemen have added to their receiving corps with the signing of wide receiver Xavier Boyce. The signing of Boyce (6'4, 220) brings a big, physical receiver to an already exciting Axemen receiving corps.

"We are really excited to add Xavier to the Axemen family," Axemen general manager Adam Barnhardt stated. "He brings an energy level and skill set that will really help make our offense successful."

Boyce most recently played for Norfolk State University, where he started every game in both his junior and senior years. In 23 games for the Spartans, Boyce recorded 126 receptions for 1,373 yards and eight touchdowns. Boyce earned All-MEAC team his junior year and was a Preseason All-MEAC selection his senior year.

After being rated by ESPN as the twenty-seventh best prospect in the nation coming out of high school in 2007, Boyce committed to Virginia Tech University where he spent three seasons. In 17 games, he accumulated 11 receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown for the Hokies before transferring to Norfolk State.

The Bemidji Axemen kick off their season in February of 2015 on Palace Casino Field at the Sanford Center. Season tickets are now on sale starting as low as $56 each and can be purchased online through www.bemidjiaxemen.com. For more information, please contact the Axemen offices as (218)444-8216.
