Team Mexico 1

Team Mexico (4-5) shut out the Arizona Roadrunners (2-7) 1-0 in a pitchers duel, that did not see a run scored until the top of the eighth inning. Stephen Whalen (1-1) pitched a complete game, having a perfect game through four and 1/3 inning and a no hitter through five and 1/3 inning. Whalen also struck out six batters. Jordan Kendall and Jose Bautista combined to pitch seven scoreless innings giving up just two hits. In the top of the seventh inning, Doug Hansen led off the inning with a double and came around to score on Aiden Villa's RBI single for the 1-0 victory. Arizona battles Blythe at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, while Team Mexico takes on Long Beach at 11:00 am.

Western Canada Miners 1

Saskatchewan SilverSox 5

The Saskatchewan SilverSox (7-2) took sole possession of first place in the International Division defeating the Western Canada Miners (6-3) 5-1. The SilverSox now hold the best record in the Arizona Winter League. Saskatchewan got doubles from Victor Valdez, JJ Muse, and Jonathon Lewis, Matthew Wilkerson also hit his second triple of the year. Chris Krepline (3-0) pitched six innings giving up one run on five hits and struck out three to keep his record perfect. Yoshimune Tsujii came in to close the game and pitched a scoreless inning. Saskatchewan looks to increase their lead in the International Division when they take on the Yuma Scorpions on Wednesday at 1:30 pm at La Voz Field at Desert Sun Complex. The Miners look to recover taking on the Surf Dawgs at 11:00 am at Desert Sun Stadium. WP - Krepline (3-0), LP - Matthew Maguire (0-1).

Sonora Pilots 6

San Diego Surf Dawgs 1

The Sonora Pilots (5-4) sent the San Diego Surf Dawgs (2-7) to their third straight loss, losing 6-1. Takuya Yoshida's bases clearing triple lifted the Pilots to victory and kept the Surf Dawgs in last place in the American Division in the AWL. Koji Tsukamoto (2-0) pitched five innings giving up one run on five hits and struck out three. Soichiro Hosoyama pitched a scoreless final two innings allowing just one hit. WP - Tsukamoto (2-0), LP - Joe Snider (0-3).

Blythe Heat 3

Team Canada 4

Team Canada (5-4) edged out a victory over the Blythe Heat (5-4) 4-3 on Wednesday to fall one game behind in the American Division in the Arizona Winter League. The second batter of the game, Justin Hemauer, hit a two-run homer (1) to give Team Canada a 2-0 lead and never looked back. Team Canada's starting pitcher Kevin Patterson did not receive a decision but pitched another strong outing, going five and 2/3 innings giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out nine. Denver Straub (2-1) came in to pitch a scoreless one and 1/3 innings to get the victory, striking out two. WP - Straub (2-1), LP - Yoo Jeong Soo (0-1)

Long Beach Armada 5

Yuma Scorpions 10

Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Yuma Scorpions (6-3) dropped six runs on the Long Beach Armada (3-6) for the comeback victory 10-5. Eri Yoshida started the game for the Scorpions, pitching two scoreless innings striking out two. Trent Fuller (4-0) came in relief pitching five innings giving up five runs on seven hits to notch his fourth victory of the year. Nicholas Naegele hit in his league leading thirteenth RBI of the year to contribute to the Scorpions victory. WP - Fuller (4-0), LP - Makoto Osone (0-1)
