Western Canada Miners 17

Blythe Heat 5

The Western Canada Miners (4-2) are now tied atop the International Division in the Arizona Winter League after blowing up the Blythe Heat (4-2) 17-5 after an 8-run first inning. Robert Delinois (1-1) started the game but did not get an out, after he gave up one hit, but walked six batters and allowed seven runs. Sean Boatright hit a double, and his second triple of the year, knocking in three runs for the Miners. Wade Townsend (1-0) picked up his first win pitching five innings giving up four runs on three hits and striking out four to get his first win of the year. Blythe takes on Yuma at 1:30 tomorrow on Field one at Desert Sun Complex, while the Miners battle Arizona at Voz Field at 11:00 am. WP - Townsend (0-1), LP - Delinois - (1-1)

Team Mexico 5

Yuma Scorpions 10

The Yuma Scorpions (3-3) doubled up Team Mexico (2-4) 10-5 to even their record at .500 on the sixth game of the year. Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Yuma dropped a five spot on Mexico to take an insurmountable lead. Nicholas Naegele hit his first home run of the year, and knocked in his seventh RBI of the year. James Kuzniak (1-0) picked up his first win of the year, pitching two innings giving up one run, on four hits striking out a batter. Mexico encounters Team Canada at La Voz Field tomorrow at 1:00 pm, and Yuma clashes with Blythe at 1:00 pm as well. WP - Kuzniak (1-0), LP - Hector (0-1). HR - Naegele (1)

Long Beach Armada 3

San Diego Surf Dawgs 5

The San Diego Surf Dawgs (2-4) defeated the Long Beach Armada (2-4) 5-3 to double their win total to two. A four run fifth inning allowed the Surf Dawgs to take a late lead that they would not relinquish to the Armada. Adam Jacobs slammed his second home run in as many days to contribute to the Surf Dawgs victory. Joshua Hildebrand (1-1) notched his first victory of the year going six innings giving up three runs on three hits and striking out seven, Billy Robbett (1) came into the game to close it out pitching a scoreless seventh inning. WP - Hildebrand (1-1), LP - Eric Blackwell (0-1), S - Robbett (1), HR - Jacobs (2).

Team Canada 13

Saskatchewan SilverSox 7

Team Canada (3-3) came from behind to defeat the Saskatchewan SilverSox (4-2) 13-7 on Friday afternoon at La Voz Field at Desert Sun Complex. After scoring two in the top of the first, Canada surrendered seven runs in the second inning to trail the SilverSox 7-2 early. Canada came back to score four runs in the fourth and seventh innings to blow out Saskatchewan on 18 hits. Patrick Brooks and Jesse Brown of Team Canada, combined to go 8-10 with 8 RBIs on the game, as a perfect 3-4 combo. Denver Straub (1-1) came in relief after the first inning to pitch a scoreless six innings, striking out four and surrendering three hits. Starting Pitcher for the SilverSox, Justin Mazur (1-1) got his first loss of the year, giving up eight runs (five earned) on 11 hits. Team Canada encounters Mexico at La Voz Field Saturday at 1:00 pm, and the SilverSox Confront the Surf Dawgs at 1:00 pm as well.

Sonora Pilots 4

Arizona Roadrunners 2

The Sonora Pilots (4-2) regained a portion of the lead in the International Division beating the Arizona Roadrunners (2-4) 4-2. After Arizona scored two runs in the first inning, they were blanked for the rest of the game. Sonora got the go ahead run in the fifth inning, after Matt Groezinger hit a sacrifice fly to right field to take the lead. WP - Calderra, LP - Ryne Houselog
