September 22, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Ohio Aviators News Release

Akron/Canton, OH. The ABA Ohio Aviators professional basketball team has signed its first two players in the history of the organization. The ABA is the fastest growing professional league in the world; the Ohio Aviators are one of the premiere new teams in the league and are proud to announce the signing of 6'8", 225lb forward Antonio Robinson of the US Armed Forces and 5'11", 165lb point guard Dave Johnson, a graduate of Slippery Rock University.

"We at the Ohio Aviators are absolutely thrilled to have signed these two exceptional young men. Dave and Antonio are great players on the court but the two men are even better role models off the court," said owner Joseph Lewandowski. "Antonio just finished a stint with the US Armed Forces All Stars in Croatia averaging 10pts and 12rbs per game. Dave is joining the team after a successful summer league where he averaged 20ppg and 10asts per game while leading the Ohio Aviators to an undefeated record of 6-0 and an average margin of victory of 40 points per game."

The Ohio Aviators will be playing in the Freddie Lewis Division and will begin training camp on October 15th. The season opener will be November 5th against the Detroit Wheels. The Aviators home opener will be November 26th against the Lake Erie Rockers at the Canton Civic Center.
