
Aviators lose opener to Shreveport

ROBSTOWN, Texas â The Coastal Bend Aviators lost the opening game of a three-game series to the Shreveport Sports 5-3.
In the top of the first inning Shreveport got on the board when Enohel Polanco hit a grounder that scored Dalphi Correa.
The Aviators answered in the bottom of the first when Carlos Figueroa hit a RBI single scoring Matt Mann making the score 1-1.
In the third inning Bobby Gilliam scored on Elliott Shaw's wild pitch making the score 2-1 Shreveport. Polanco added another RBI groundout in the inning making the score 3-1.
The Aviators rallied to tie in the sixth inning. Edwin Maldonado hit a two-run single tying the game at three.
Polanco drove in two more runs on a single in the seventh inning. Polanco finished the night with four RBI.
Dusty Dossett (2-0) started and got the win for Shreveport. Mal Winters struck out the only two batters he faced and picked up his first save of the season. Griffin Zarbough (0-1) took the loss in relief for the Aviators.
