(Orlando, FL) - The Orlando Predators scored five touchdowns on the ground and ran over the Los Angeles Avengers 59-34 Sunday before 12, 839 fans at the TD Waterhouse Centre. The loss was the fifth straight for the Avengers as they fell to 1-5 on the year.

In game that is traditionally dominated by the passing attack Orlando moved the ball the unconventional way. The Predators piled up 85 yards rushing in addition to the five scores.

Orlando never trailed in the contest. Tied at seven half way though the first period, the Predators jumped on LA for 21 consecutive points and never looked back. First Jimmy Fryzel hauled in a 21 yard touchdown pass from Joe Hamilton.

After each team missed a field goal, Jerrain James picked off Avenger quarterback Sonny Cumbie and brought it a back for a 13 yard score. On the Avengers' next possession, Jeroid Johnson stepped in front of a Cumbie pass and returned it 36 yards to the LA four. From there, Marlon Moye- Moore pounded it in to give Orlando a 28-7 lead.

The Predators carried a 38-14 lead into the halftime break.

Cumbie threw three touchdown passes in the second half including a 36 yarder to Tony Locke in the third quarter and a 26 yard strike to Greg Hopkins in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as the Predators kept up the offensive pressure.

Hamilton fired an eight yard TD pass to Moye- Moore late in the game to put it away. In the third period Kevin Nagle broke off a 25 yard scoring romp to put Orlando up 45-21 and Javarus Dudley plunged in from a yard out late in the third for a 52-27 advantage.

Cumbie finished 24 for 43 for 295 yards and four touchdowns but two interceptions led to his undoing. Hopkins and Locke each piled up over 100 receiving yards.

Hamilton threw for 170 yards and two scores. Moye- Moore rushed for two scores in addition to his touchdown reception.

Next week the Avengers travel to San Jose to take on the Saber Cats in what is seemingly a must win game. The Predators, (4-2), will pack their bags for a trip to Arizona to face the Rattlers.
