Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES - "A-Team" dancers Annika and Becky represented the Avengers at the Ninth Annual West Coast National Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) Drill Competition where more than 50 high schools and 2,000 cadets competed on Saturday, March 31, at the Raytheon facility in El Segundo, Calif.

"It was a real pleasure to watch the competition," Becky said. "The participants have put a lot of time and effort into being the best they can be."

The two Avengers representatives took the opportunity to sign autographs and pose for pictures with Raytheon employees, military officials, participants, members of Congress, and municipal officials.

The competition was organized by the Redondo Union High School Marine Corps JROTC cadets and sponsored by Raytheon. The meet placed cadet JROTC and high school academy teams against each other in eleven major drill events.

The cadets are judged on precision, bearing, appearance, knowledge, esprit-de-corps and motivation. Senior drill instructors from all of the services, serving with the active duty and reserve forces, will judge each team's performance. The event, the largest of its kind in the nation, is known as the "Super Bowl of JROTC drill competitions."
