June 22, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES -- Kevin Ingram, one of the Avengers' premier players, has been activated off the Arena Football League's injured reserve list, head coach Ed Hodgkiss announced today.

After fracturing his right thumb on May 12, in a game against the Tampa Bay Storm, Ingram underwent surgery on May 17. Despite being sidelined for five games, Ingram still leads the team with 1,323 all-purpose yards and is tied for the team lead in scoring with 24 touchdowns.

So far this season, he has caught 95 passes for 1,171 yards. Ingram, the 2005 "AFL Ironman of the Year" and a three-time All-Arena selection, is second on L.A.'s all-time receptions list with 427 catches for 5,030 yards and 115 touchdowns. He also is the Avengers' all-time leader in interceptions with 24.

Los Angeles (9-6) will conclude the regular season tomorrow night at STAPLES Center versus the Utah Blaze (7-8). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on FSN Prime Ticket.

In another transaction made today, rookie defensive back James Bethea was placed on the IR list with a turf toe injury.

After battling the Blaze, the Avengers will host a first-round playoff game at STAPLES Center on Monday, July 2. That contest against a yet-to-be-determined opponent will kick off at 7 p.m.

Tickets for both the regular-season finale and the first-round playoff game can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, the STAPLES Center Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com or laavengers.com, or by calling 888-AVENGERS.

The Avengers, who have earned playoff berths in five of their last six seasons, did not qualify last year after going 5-11.

Twelve of the AFL's 19 teams advance to the playoffs, six from each conference. The league's four division winners earn the top two seeds in each conference and first-round byes.

ArenaBowl XXI will be played on Sunday, July 29, in New Orleans.
