TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm activated fullback/linebacker Nyle Wiren and signed Bryant Tisdale to the practice squad, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today. The team also released Jarrod Penright.
Wiren, 6-foot-2, 260-pounds, is in his 10th season with the Storm. He returns to action after suffering an elbow injury in Week 7 against the Orlando Predators. Wiren ranks third all-time in franchise history with 17 career sacks. The former Kansas State star earned second-team All-Arena honors in 2004 and was a member of the 2003 championship team.
Tisdale, 5-10, 180-pounds, played for the University of Texas El Paso. A native of Clearwater, Florida, he prepped at Dunedin High School in Pinellas County. Tisdale finished his senior season with 60 tackles, seven pass breakups and two interceptions. After his senior year he played in The First Annual All-American Challenge: Texas vs. The Nation Collegiate All-Star Bowl.
