Austin Aztex Add Roushandel, Taylor to Squad

AUSTIN, Texas (Monday, April 19, 2014) - The Austin Aztex have signed two new players to the 2015 roster for the club's inaugural USL PRO season. Joining the Aztex are Ryan Roushandel and Bryce Taylor.
"We are excited to bring in Ryan and Bryce," Aztex Head Coach Paul Dalglish said. "These two show the quality and hard work mentality that we strive to put on the field this season and we know they are proud to represent the Aztex."
Taylor, a 25-year-old forward, has gathered an array of experience playing in the USL PDL and USL PRO. He began his PDL career with the DFW Tornados between 2009 and 2010, before signing with the Mississippi Brilla for the 2011 season. The six-foot-one-inch product from Broken Arrow, OK, joined the professional ranks of USL PRO in the 2012 season with the Wilmington Hammerheads, where he tallied six goals playing alongside current Aztex teammate Andres Cuero. He played his collegiate career at Rogers State University from 2007 to 2010.
Roushandel, a 29-year-old center back, adds a strong component to the Aztex defense thanks to the wide variety of soccer experience that he has garnered through his career. Born and raised in Alpharetta, GA, Roushandel spent time abroad playing for Brujas F.C. in Cost Ricaôs first division and for Sevilla F.C. in Puerto Rico. Roushandel came back to the United States and signed with NASL's Atlanta Silverbacks, where he appeared in more than 13 games in 2014. He spent his collegiate career playing two years for the Clemson Tigers before transferring and closing out his collegiate career at the University of Central Florida.
These additions bring the 2015 USL PRO roster up to 11 players. The Aztex squad continues to take shape with more signings coming up in the near future as the team is preparing to host the ATX PRO Challenge, a four-way tournament against three MLS teams. The clash at the capitol will take place at UT's Mike A. Myers Stadium from February 13 through February 15, 2015.
