Austen Brassard and Michael Curtis Invited to Canadian Under 18 Selection Camp

Belleville Bulls forwards Austen Brassard and Michael Curtis are among 38 skaters that have been invited to Canada's National Men's Summer Under 18 Team Selection Camp being held July 30 - August 3 in Calgary. Bulls General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett is also the Head Coach of Canada's National Men's Summer Under 18 Team.

Four goaltenders will be added to the camp roster following the Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp being held June 17-20 in Calgary. Five Under 18 eligible goaltenders including Bulls netminder Tyson Teichmann will be in attendance for that camp.

Following the selection camp, 22 skaters and two goaltenders will be chosen to represent Canada at the 2010 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament being held August 10-14 in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Last year, Bulls defenceman Stephen Silas helped Canada win a second consecutive gold medal at the 2009 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament.

Brassard and Curtis are each entering their second OHL season with Belleville. Last season, Brassard scored 10 goals while adding 19 assists in 63 games played split between the Bulls and Windsor Spitfires while Curtis recorded 19 goals and 24 points in 67 games played. Both Brassard and Curtis were named to the OHL All-Rookie Second Team following the conclusion of the 2009-2010 season.
