
Augusta buries Kannapolis

Kannapolis, NC--The Intimidators were beaten by a score of 7-1, against the Augusta Greenjackets, Thursday at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. The I's only run came in the bottom of the 8th. Anderson Gomes knocked in Eric Mesa with an RBI groundout in the inning. Intimidators SP Jose Zazueta took the loss, his first as an Intimidator. He lasted just 4 and a third, while allowing 10 hits and 5 runs. Matt Long was brilliant in relief. Long worked 2 scoreless. Mike Mooney of Augusta hit two homeruns. His second shot was a bomb over the visiting clubhouse in left. With the loss, the Intimidators have now dropped 11 consecutive games.
The I's will try to end that streak as they continue on in a 4 game series with Augusta tomorrow night. Jason Rice starts for Kannapolis. The game will begin at 7:05pm.
