
Auer Receives Well-Deserved Promotion

Charleston, SC - On Tuesday morning, the Tampa Bay Rays announced that outfielder Mason Auer has been promoted to High-A Bowling Green. Auer becomes the fourth position player and ninth player overall to be promoted during the 2022 season.
Auer played in 60 games for the RiverDogs, finishing his time in the Holy City with a .293 batting average, four home runs and 31 runs batted in. He departs leading all of Minor League Baseball with nine triples and ranking fifth in the Carolina League in hits, tied for fifth in runs scored, tied for sixth in stolen bases, tied for seventh in total bases, eighth in slugging percentage, ninth in batting average, tied for ninth in extra-base hits and tenth in OPS. He also recorded five outfield assists, playing all three positions this season.
The Tampa Bay Rays selected Auer in the fifth round of the 2021 draft out of San Jacinto College. Following the draft, he played in 11 games for the FCL Rays, batting .265 with a pair of doubles and three RBI.
The RiverDogs hit the road for a six-game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans that begins on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. The series will pit the two teams with the best records in MiLB against one another for a third time this year. The RiverDogs currently lead the season-series 5-4.
