OTTAWA, ON - Atletico Ottawa remains undefeated after a draw against Pacific FC in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the TELUS Canadian Championship at TD Place. A strong performance from a much-changed Ottawa side lacked decisiveness in the final action following a fourth match in 12 days as the visitors were content with defending and keeping the match at a stalemate. The return leg will take place in Victoria, BC, on May 29.

KEY MOMENTS

Unbeaten Atletico Ottawa kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Pacific FC at TD Place.

Atletico proved to be the better side throughout the match but were unable to find the back of the net.

Ottawa led in shots, shots on target, ball possession, successful passes, dribbles and won more corners.

Head Coach Carlos González took the opportunity to rotate, making five changes to the side that beat Valour FC last weekend.

New signing Dani Morer, on loan from Famalicão, made an impressive first start for Atlético.

Morer created the most chances (3) of the match and made 100% of his tackles.

Ottawa defender Matteo de Brienne played his 50th professional match.

De Brienne won 100% of his aerial duels and 8 out of 10 ground duels.

He was the player with the most tackles tonight (5).

Rayane Yesli, returning in goal, kept his second clean sheet of the season.

100% of his passes have been successful and he has stopped 100% of his opponents' shots.

The Canadian championship is the country's most prestigious cup competition and has a specific format:

After the two rounds of the quarterfinals, the four winning teams will be drawn again to determine the semi-final opponents.

The team with the highest aggregate score will qualify for the semi-finals.

In the event of a tie, away goals count double.

If the tie persists, the match goes to penalties after 90 minutes.

This could provide a historic opportunity for Ottawa to face a Canadian MLS team for the first time.

Atletico will travel to British Columbia this weekend to play Vancouver FC on Sunday, May 12 (kick-off 7pm ET, live on OneSoccer).

The Eagles have a 50% win rate so far in the league, with as many home wins as away defeats (2-0-2).

The game will be the 5th of the season, concluding Ottawa's long run of 5 games in two weeks.
