
Atlantic League Home Run Derby Participants Announced

(Bridgeport, Conn. - July 6, 2015) - The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball today announced the participants of the 2015 Home Run Derby, which will take place before the All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 8th at The Ballpark At Harbor Yard.
Liberty Division:
Bridgeport Bluefish - Welington Dotel
Camden Riversharks - Joel Guzman
Somerset Patriots - Scott Cousins
Long Island Ducks - Lew Ford
Freedom Division:
Lancaster Barnstormers - Brian Cavazos-Galvez

Southern Maryland Blue Crabs - Jake Opitz
The gates to the Ballpark will open at 4:00 p.m., with the Little League Home Run Derby beginning at 4:15 p.m. and the Atlantic League Home Run Derby beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will also be a street fair outside the Ballpark from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Atlantic League All-Star Game will begin at 7:05 p.m. and will feature special guest host, professional wrestling legend Ric Flair.
Tickets for the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game cost $14 for Box Seats or $11 for Reserved Seats, and can be purchased by calling 203-210-BLUE, visiting the Bluefish Box Office at Harbor Yard, or CLICKING HERE. There will be a Ric Flair Meet & Greet in the Two Roads Beer Garden from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Admission to the Meet & Greet costs $75 and includes a Box Seat Ticket to the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game. The Bluefish will also be hosting an All-Star Block Party in Downtown Bridgeport on Tuesday, July 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fairfield Avenue will be shut down between Lafayette Square and Broad Street for the Block Party, which will feature live music, street performers, and plenty of food. Admission to the Block Party is free, with a suggested $10 donation to the Bridgeport Caribe Youth Baseball League.
The All-Star Week will conclude on Thursday, July 9th with the 'Heroes for Heroes' Legends Game. This 7-inning charity contest will feature former Yankees, such as Dwight "Doc" Gooden and Charlie Hayes, against former Red Sox, including Ellis Burks and Mike Timlin. Proceeds from the Heroes for Heroes Legends Game will benefit ABRI/Homes for the Brave, a nonprofit based right here in Bridgeport that is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless individuals, especially Veterans. Game time on Thursday, July 9th will be 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at the gate on the day of the game.
