Atlantic Canada Welcomes CFL and CIS Officials

Toronto, Ontario â The Canadian Football League announced today that it will host its fifth officiating clinic of the year with both CFL and CIS officials convening in Halifax on June 11-12th at St. Mary's University. The clinic builds upon the CFL's commitment to strengthening its officiating program and furthers the League's presence in the region this weekend as highlighted by the Touchdown Atlantic preseason match-up between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Argonauts on June 11th at Huskies Stadium.
Over the course of the two days, the CFL's Director of Officiating George Black will lead interactive presentations and discussions on topics including passing game calls, effective evaluations for effective officiating and six man on-field positioning and responsibilities. Attending the sessions are 10 CFL officials and supervisors, and more than 54 local amateur officials from the Atlantic region.
"We are delighted at the opportunity to further collaborate with amateur football officials in this region and are particularly excited to be here in Halifax as we celebrate Canadian football at Touchdown Atlantic," said George Black, Director of Officiating for the CFL. "With four officiating camps already completed this year, and the next one scheduled for mid-June in Vancouver, we continue to focus on enhancing the talents and on-field performance of our officials."
