
Atlanta Hawks Recall Donta Smith

ATLANTA, GA ---- The Atlanta Hawks today recalled guard Donta Smith from the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight.
Originally assigned to the RimRockers on December 2, 2005, Smith played in 29 games (22 starts) with Arkansas, averaging 13.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.7 spg in 33.2 mpg (.568 FG%, .323 3FG%, .731 FT%). He ranked 5th in the league in field goal percentage, 6th in steals, 18th in assists, 20th in scoring and tied for 32nd in rebounding.
Prior to his assignment, Smith played in six games for the Hawks this season, and averaged 0.7 ppg and 0.5 rpg in 3.2 mpg (.400 FG%).
A second-round pick of Atlanta in the 2004 NBA Draft (34th overall), Smith put up 3.3 ppg, 1.4 rpg and 1.0 apg (.389 FG%, .688 FT%) in 38 games as a rookie.
