Greeneville, TN - The Greeneville Astros lost to the Kingsport Mets Wednesday afternoon in a 1-0 ballgame. Yhoan Acosta received the loss for the Astros while Erik Manoah picked up the win for the Mets. The loss drops the Astros' record to 31-30 on the season and puts them 3.5 games behind Kingsport in the Appalachian League West division.
Yhoan Acosta, the team leader in innings pitched and strikeouts, got the start for the Astros on the mound. In his five innings pitched he gave up just three hits while striking out eight Mets batters. The lone Kingsport run was scored on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning off the bat of Milton Ramos.

The Astros were limited to just two hits in the ballgame, one for Luis Payano in the fifth and one for Gabriel Bracamonte in the sixth. While the Mets' picked up nine strikeouts compared to the Astros' ten, the team played solid defense to keep the Astros scoreless.
Greeneville moved runners into scoring position multiple times throughout the game but were unable to knock a run home. In the sixth inning, following the Bracamonte single, Myles Straw and Randy Cesar drew walks to load up the bases. Connor Goedert then sent a well-hit flyball to deep right-centerfield that was caught just in front of the wall to end the inning, leaving the runners stranded.
The Astros will hit the road for a three game series against the Burlington Royals beginning on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 PM. They will return home for their final home series of the year on Sunday, August 30th versus the Princeton Rays.
