Round Rock Express News Release

Former National League Most Valuable Player Jeff Kent and Houston Astros General Manager Gerry Hunsicker will be among those in attendance at the Astros' annual Caravan stop in Round Rock February 9.

Broadcaster Milo Hamilton and Director of Player Development Tim Purpura will also be in attendance.

The visit will be Kent's second in less than a year. The 2000 NL MVP played in three games with the Round Rock Express in 2003 on a rehab assignment, hitting a home run off in his second game.

Kent also remarked that "(The Express) has done a fantastic job. This was a real treat for me to come here. It's been a pleasure to come here." He also joked that, "If they could pay me as much as they do in Houston, I'd just stay here."

Hunsicker will come to Round Rock fresh off the most successful off-season in the franchise's history. After signing left-hander Andy Pettite, Hunsicker made national news last week when he convinced six-time Cy Young award winner Roger Clemens to come out of retirement, giving the Astros one of the strongest pitching staffs in baseball.

Hamilton will be entering his 19th year as the radio voice of the Astros. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2000 and is best known for calling Hank Aaron's 715th home run in 1974.

Pupura heads the Astro's player development staff, ensuring that future stars like Roy Oswalt continue to come through Round Rock.

The event starts at noon at the United Heritage Center.

Tickets are available at http://roundrockexpress.com/tickets/Caravan/ or by calling (512) 255-BALL. Individual tickets are $20, or tables of eight are available for $150.
