
Asheville Adds Eddie Gill

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 23, 2002) - The Asheville Altitude has acquired point guard Eddie Gill, according to an announcement today by NBDL Executive Director Karl Hicks and Asheville Head Coach Joe Meyer. The Altitude also waived point guard Andre Woolridge.
Gill, 6-foot and 190-pounds, played in the National Basketball Association for parts of the last two seasons, most recently with the Memphis Grizzlies. Gill was released by the Grizzlies on Oct. 24 after appearing in 23 games last season. He also played in eight games with the New Jersey Nets during the 2000-01 season. Gill averaged 16.2 points and 6.9 assists per game as a senior at Weber State in 1999-2000.
Woolridge started three games at point guard for the Altitude this season, averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 assists per game.
Gill is scheduled to play when Asheville hosts the Fayetteville Patriots tonight. He will wear jersey number 2 against Fayetteville before switching to number 4 for the remainder of the season.
