Brooklyn Aviators News Release

Cape Cod, Massachusetts--The New York Aviators hit the road for their third and final game of the week Sunday evening in Cape Cod. Coming off back-to-back wins at home, the A's went searching for their 20th win in a row and found out.

The A's struck first with a goal from Chris Holmes (Steve Obelnicki) at 4:28. A's goalie John Dorman was solid in the frame, as Holmes' goal would prove to be the lone goal of the period leaving the score at 1-0 heading into the second stanza.

Nick Vandenbeld added another to New York's total at 11:12 in the second from Casey Mignone and Andrew Scampoli. Shortly after, Cape Cod attempted to close the gap with a shot from Vincent Amigone to put the match at 2-1. However, Matt Puntureri and Angelo Serse would add in back-to-back goals to extend the A's lead to 4-1 heading into the final period.

Aaron Boyer tried to give the Barons life at 2:08 in the third, but Dorman stood tall and did not allow another Cape Cod goal, turning away 40 shots during the match. Mignone added a cap to the night at 18:08 for the A's to put the final score at 5-2.

With this win, the Aviators collected their 20th win in a row and improve to 31-12-2 on the season. The A's also extended their hold on first place in the FHL, leading Akwesasne by three points.

The Aviators will take to the ice on Thursday, February 24 at Aviator Sports and Events Center as they face off against the Danbury Whalers for their last regular season home game before the Playoffs begin. It's NYPD Night sponsored by MCU where all members of the NYPD receive free admission! Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05PM. For more information call the A's front office at 718 758 7580!
