London Lightning quickly found their offence and managed an early 14-5 lead forcing the A's into a timeout at 7:15. An exchange of baskets ensued as each team matched bucket for bucket. A lack of defensive stops by the A's allowed the London Lightening to maintain their lead as they consistently attacked the paint for a total of 16 points in the paint for the quarter versus the A's 6. London's Garrett Williamson led the way with 7 points while Joel Friesen earned 6. Alex Johnson and newly-acquired Corbin Thomas led the way for the A's with 5 points each. The A's offense flowed smoothly through Stefan Nastic and defensive adjustments limited the Lightning's outside shooting as well. Rick Bodiford also added his own 5-0 run to give the A's their first lead of 79-78 at 6:49. The London Lightning retaliated through Royce White's offense as he reached a tally of 21 points with 12 coming from within the third quarter. Nastic continued to contribute for the A's offense with 8 points inside. With A's down one, 117-118, the London Lightning's Ryan Anderson attacked the paint and kicked the ball out to an open Doug Herring Jr. who knocked down the clutch 3-pointer with 22.7 seconds on the clock to give London a 4 point lead, 121-117. That 3 ultimately led to the W for London, 126-122.
