A's Announce New Head Coach, Brandon Lesovsky

August 5, 2016 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Orangeville A's News Release

ORANGEVILLE, ON - The Orangeville A's would like to proudly announce the hiring of their new bench boss for the 2016-2017 NBL Canada season, Coach Brandon Lesovsky. Lesovsky will be inheriting an A's squad that finished with a 14-29 record last year, looking to find similar success that he had with the Athlete Institute Basketball Academy in the 2015-2016 season.

When asked about his new position Lesovsky stated, "I am very thankful and excited to become a part of the A's organization. The past 3 years have been incredibly fun and rewarding and this is a new challenge for me professionally. A big thank you to Jesse Tipping and Tony McIntyre for all of the guidance and support and to James Tipping for the new opportunity... go A's!"

Lesovsky is a born native of Cuba, Kansas, USA, graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1997. Lesovsky later attended Kentucky Wesleyan University and played on the university football team as a wide receiver, graduating in 2001. Lesovsky began his coaching career in the Kansas area, travelling between Kentucky Wesleyan, Neosho and Cowley County Community College as an Assistant Coach.

More recently Lesovsky has been the Head Coach of the Athlete Institute Prep team for the previous 3 years, overseeing the mentoring and coaching of several notable alumni such as: Thon Maker (Selected 10th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks), Cole Long (University of Detroit) and Nikola Djogo (University of Notre Dame). Coach Lesovsky had a successful year with AI Prep, winning the inaugural OBSA championship Series 2-0 against Orangeville Prep.

Lesovsky and the A's coaching staff will now look towards the NBLC Draft in November, hoping to use his recruiting and coaching expertise to formulate a competitive roster. Look for NBL Canada action to begin once again in late December, 2016, and stay tuned for the official announcement of the 2016-2017 NBL Canada schedule!
