Arrows Select Three Canadians in 2021 MLR Draft

The Toronto Arrows have taken part in their inaugural MLR Draft and have selected three homegrown talents to add to the club's roster for next season.
The Arrows, picking at number 4, 17 and having traded down from 30 to 35 with NOLA in exchange for salary cap considerations, selected Logan Martin-Feek, Bryce Worden and Samuel Mace from the Universities of Victoria, British Columbia and Ottawa, respectively.
Logan Martin-Feek - University of Victoria
Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, 23-year-old Martin-Feek is a dual Canadian/New Zealand citizen whose primary position is fly-half but offers flexibility to cover throughout the backline. The 6'1 ¬Â³, 205lb versatile back has played for Sumner RFC and Westshore RFC, has started over 65 times for UVic Vikes and has captained the side since 2020.
The UVic product joins fellow Vikes program grads Guiseppe du Toit, Jamie Mackenzie and Ollie Nott at the Arrows.
Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Mark Winokur said, "Martin-Feek is a very talented and versatile back from UVic who gives us flexibility and cover across the backline."
Bryce Worden - University of British Columbia
Hailing from Sussex, New Brunswick, the 6'3 ¬Â³, 260lb prop Worden represented Canada U20 in 2015 and has a vast amount of experience playing high-level rugby in both Canada and New Zealand. Now 26, Worden moved to Vancouver at the age of 18 to play for Burnaby Lake RFC, before spending two years playing for College Rifles RFC and the University of Auckland. Since returning to Canada, he's been representing BC Bears and UBC Thunderbirds for the past three years.
Worden joins former Thunderbirds grad Ben LeSage and Tyler Rowland at the club. The front row stalwart also doubles the New Brunswick tally on the Arrows, with Worden linking up with fellow prop and Sussex native Cole Keith.
Winokur added, "Bryce is a powerful prop who can play on both sides of the front row, and comes from a top university program at UBC. His addition to our roster builds upon our domestic depth at a key position."
Samuel Mace - University of Ottawa
6 ¬Â², 235lb Mace, from Odessa, Ontario, is an athletic hooker "with a big upside and can develop into an excellent player at the pro level," said Winokur.
Mace has plied his trade at the club level with Bytown Blues RFC, and is the first Ottawa Gee Gee to join the Arrows organization.
Winokur also added, "Overall, we are very happy with our draft and the commitment we have made to Canadian rugby. We had lots of opportunity to move out of our picks and acquire players from other teams but we remain confident that building and maintaining our Canadian base is our best long-term strategy."
