TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce that scrum-half Will Grant has re-signed with the club for the 2024 Major League Rugby season.

Grant, 24, is returning to the Arrows for a second campaign after featuring in 12 matches (four starts) across his first MLR season.

The five-foot-nine, 170-pound back posted 285 carry metres on 39 carries, 56 tackles, 30 kicks in play, 13 defenders beaten, four offloads, three linebreaks, three breakdown steals and a try in his first professional season in North America.

"I'm looking forward to returning in 2024 for my second season with the Arrows," said Grant. "It's encouraging to see all the returning players chomping at the bit to rip in and the energy of the new players looking to put their best foot forward."

"As it stands, it's shaping up to be a very exciting year for us."

Grant first arrived at the club from Australian side West Harbour, where the halfback had been plying his trade in the 2022 Shute Shield campaign.

Prior to his time in the Shute Shield, Grant spent three seasons with Northland in New Zealand's National Provincial Championship, where he featured in 16 games for the Whangarei-based side.

Hailing from Rouchel, Australia - a small town of about 150 residents located 300km north of Sydney - Grant spends his off-seasons back home, working on his family's cattle farm.

Grant is designated as a domestic player through his Canadian eligibility, as his maternal grandmother was born and raised in British Columbia before settling in Australia.

"We've seen a lot of growth from Will over this past season and we're delighted to see him return," said Tim Matthews, Toronto Arrows Vice President and General Manager. "You could see his game management and tactical kicking, along with his confidence, develop with each match last year, and he brings a real spark every time he plays. His passion is the kind of intangible his teammates feed off, and we know the fans at York Lions Stadium appreciate his energy as well."

The club will be making additional signing announcements in the coming weeks as 2024 season preparations continue to build.
