Toronto Arrows News Release
TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce that centre Noel Reid is returning to the club for the 2024 Major League Rugby season.
Reid, 33, is back with the Arrows for his sophomore campaign after featuring in seven matches (seven starts) across his first MLR season.
The six-foot-one, 205-pound back accrued 215 carry metres on 27 carries, 33 tackles, five offloads, four defenders beaten and a try in his debut season in North America.
"I'm really looking forward to returning to the Arrows next season," said Reid. "There's been a lot of positive changes within the playing group and staff and I'm excited to help maximise our potential. Having Bill's legacy at the forefront of our minds will drive us on to have the best season possible."
Reid began his professional career with Leinster in 2012 and would go on to make more than 120 appearances and score more than 100 points for his home provincial side across seven seasons with the then-Pro12/Pro14 club.
Following stints with Premiership side Leicester Tigers (2019-2020) and French Top 14 club Agen (2020-2022), he returned to England in 2022 for brief spell with London Irish.
Internationally, Reid made his senior debut for Ireland against Argentina in June 2014, and was selected for senior development sides Emerging Ireland and Ireland Wolfhounds between 2013 and 2015.
The Dubliner also represented his country at the age-grade level, featuring at both the 2009 Six Nations Under-20s Championship and the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship.
Reid played his grassroots rugby with school side St. Michael's College in Dublin, and later with All-Ireland League club Clontarf.
"We're glad to have Noel back with us for another campaign," said Tim Matthews, Toronto Arrows Vice President and General Manager. "He's a talented professional who's played at the highest levels across Europe and understands what's required to win."
"In addition to providing a steady presence and competition on the pitch, Noel's also an excellent mentor for our younger players starting their professional careers. He's fully committed to seeing this club succeed."
The club will be making additional signing announcements in the coming weeks as 2024 season preparations continue to build.
