Toronto Arrows News Release

TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce that prop Tyler Rowland has re-signed with the club for the 2024 Major League Rugby season.

Rowland, 23, is returning to the Arrows for a fifth campaign after featuring in 41 matches (20 starts) for the club since debuting in 2020.

"I am really excited to be continuing with the Arrows and look forward to embracing the challenges and contributing to the success to the club," said Rowland. "I have felt at home since joining in 2020, a large part of which had do with Bill's support and influence throughout the years."

"I look forward to honouring Bill's legacy and continue to aid the growth of the game in Canada, while also putting out performances the organization and the fans can be proud of."

The six-foot-one, 270-pound forward has produced 698 carry metres on 134 carries, 190 tackles (88% completion), 404 ruck arrivals, seven defenders beaten, one breakdown steal and one try over his first four seasons with the club.

Internationally, the native of Mississauga, Ont. has earned nine caps for Canada since making his senior debut against Wales in July 2021. He also represented Canada at two World Rugby Under-20 Trophy tournaments, first as an under-ager in 2018, and again in 2019.

"Despite already entering his fifth season with us and becoming one of the more veteran players on the team, it can be easy to forget that Tyler is still among the youngest props in Major League Rugby," said Tim Matthews, Toronto Arrows Vice President and General Manager. "He's a physical, imposing player who has made great strides in his game in each year he's been here, and I'm confident he'll continue on his upward trajectory in 2024."

Arrow #46 is an alumnus of the Ontario Blues junior men's provincial program and Rugby Canada's Pacific Pride national development academy program, and played his grassroots rugby with the Toronto Nomads (Ontario) and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds (British Columbia).

The club will be making additional signing announcements in the coming weeks as 2024 season preparations continue to build.
