Armor Blow Away Skyforce at 2013 NBA D-League Showcase

RENO, NEV., Jan. 9, 2013 - It was all Springfield on day three of the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase, as the Armor blew away the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 101-73, behind the solid outings of Carleton Scott, Willie Reed and Ramone Moore.

Springfield was sparked by a second quarter which it outscored Sioux Falls 34-14 and went into the half leading, 55-39.

Scott put in a great all-around game, registering a career-high 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting. He nailed 5-of-8 attempts from behind the three-point line and recorded six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Following a season in Austria, Scott, a graduate of Notre Dame was in training camp with the Brooklyn Nets and made his way to Springfield as an affiliate player.

Reed and Moore both tied career highs, collecting 23 and 19 points respectively. Reed shot 11-for-16 from the floor while recording three steals and two blocks. Moore shot 8-for-13 and collected nine rebounds.

Christian Polk scored 12 points and had another successful shooting performance from the outside nailing 4-of-6 attempts from behind the arc. In two games at the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase, Polk scored 23 points. All but two of those 23 points came via the three-pointer, as he shot 9-for-15 from behind the arc in Reno.

Demetris Nichols led the way for Sioux Falls, scoring 13 points on 5-for-13 shooting from the floor. In 18 games this season, Nichols has scored in double figures in all but two games. Miami Heat assignee, Dexter Pittman, recorded 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.

This was the final game of the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase for both Springfield (5-11) and Sioux Falls (10-8). The Armor and Skyforce will both return home to take on the Red Claws and Vipers, respectively on Friday.
