Alabama Hammers News Release

After an amazing game, in which he scored 15-points, Armando Cuko saved his best for last by kicking the game-winning 23-yard field goal on the game's last play giving the Alabama Hammers a 51-48 victory over the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks last Sunday on the regional TV broadcast. For his outstanding league-leading performance, Cuko has been named the Professional Indoor Football League's (PIFL) Special Teams Player of the Week.

"It was good to see Armando have a positive impact on the game. He is an outstanding kicker and has worked hard all year," said Dean Cokinos, head coach of the Hammers. "We switched the holder for him this game by using Russel Hill. He and Russ really had good chemistry."

Cuko had two field goals, six extra points and three Uno's during the Hammers' win over the Steelhawks.

The defending PIFL champion Hammers play at home this Saturday, May 17, with a 7 p.m. kickoff against the division leading Columbus Lions.
