JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Armada FC have announced that it will retain its entire coaching staff heading into the off-season. Assistant Coach Pat Cannon and Goalkeeper Coach Daryl Sattler will remain on staff for the 2017 North American Soccer League's campaign.
Following the announcement on Oct. 4 stating that Mark Lowry had been appointed as Head Coach, the coaching staff took the Armada to a 4W-6D-4L record in the final 14 games of the Fall Season.
"We are very happy to make this announcement and solidify the clubs structure of the first team staff," said Armada Technical Director Nathan Walter. "We have a strategic plan to create the best environment for our players to develop as a player, as well as a person and with these placements we are moving in the right direction. Each individual has a great work ethic, they are very knowledgeable of their role and all have a huge desire to support Mark Lowry in achieving the clubs ambitions"
Pat Cannon, a native of Jacksonville Beach, will continue to serve as the Armada U-23 Head Coach and the Director of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy program within the Armada FC Youth Academy. Before joining Lowry in August, Cannon led the U-23 squad to a strong second-place finish in the NPSL Sunshine Conference in the team's first year and led Jacksonville United FC to an NPSL National Championship in 2011. Cannon was also an Assistant Coach for Jacksonville University's men's soccer team in 2014 and 2015.
Daryl Sattler, a former professional goalkeeper, played with NASL sides FC Tampa Bay (now Tampa Bay Rowdies), Minnesota United FC and San Antonio Scorpions. He won the league title and the NASL Golden Glove Award in 2014 with the Scorpions. He also coached with Lipscomb University, Jacksonville University, and the Armada U-23 before joining in August.
In addition, the Armada have appointed Gabriel (Gabe) Zapponi to Head of Sports Performance. The former University of Central Florida midfielder and Jacksonville University Assistant Coach will join Lowry's staff heading into the 2017 season.
Expect the Armada FC Technical Staff to make more club announcements in the coming weeks as they continue to build the roster for the 2017 season.
