Long Beach Armada News Release
The Long Beach Armada continue to hold serve in the race for the 2nd half title in the GBL's South Division. A 6-3 win over the Flyers at Blair Field guarantees that Long Beach will wake up Saturday in first place with two games left to play.
The Armada used one big five-run inning to overcome an early 3-0 deficit. The Flyers jumped in front on a Fernando Pacheco homerun, but SP Rik Currier settled down to throw six strong innings and get his eighth win of the season.
The five-run 3rd inning was keyed by two Flyers' errors and capped by a go-ahead two-run double from Steve Moss.
The six-game season-ending series will head back to Goodwin Field Saturday at 7 p.m.
