Arkansas Twisters Defeat Blitz, 32-50

Bakersfield - The game against the Arkansas Twisters on Sunday, June 25 was a loss for the Bakersfield Blitz. The Twisters defeated the Blitz, 32-50. The Blitz walk away with an overall record of 7-5, and the Twisters take home an improved record of 8-4.

1st Quarter

The game started off slow with both teams only able to capture on touchdown each. Arkansas scored first with QB, Walter Church's 18 yard pass to OS, Robert Kilow. The Blitz defense held the Twisters back with 2 sacks, one by FB/LB John Johnson and the other by OL/DL Jerry Turner. For the Blitz, John Johnson scored with a 1 yard touchdown. Blitz kicker, Jaret Johnson was unable to deliver the PAT which left the score at Blitz 6, Twisters 7.

2nd Quarter

Arkansas led the second quarter with 2 touchdowns, a field goal, and a team safety. Arkansas' touchdowns went to Walter Church for 7 yards and Robert Kilow with a 9 yard pass. Kicker, David Carlton had a 49 yard field goal. In the last seconds of the quarter, Jaret Johnson's field goal attempt was blocked by Arkansas, resulting in a team safety for the Twisters. The Blitz gathered 1 touchdown, an 8 yard pass to Rennard Reynolds. The first half ended with a score of Blitz 12, Twisters 26.

3rd Quarter

In the third quarter, Blitz OS Rennard Reynolds had his second touchdown of the game with a 44 yard pass from QB, Bobby Pesavento. Twisters' Walter Church had a 28 yard touchdown pass to WR/LB, Kevin Williams. With both teams were able to gather PATs, the third quarter ended at Blitz 19, Twisters 33.

4th Quarter

Arkansas led the fourth quarter with 2 additional touchdowns and a field goal. Robert Kilow scored with a 7 yard pass from Church and WR/DB, Pierre Thomas scored with an 11 yard pass. Carlton had a 30 yard field goal. The Blitz came up short with two touchdowns. Blitz FB/LB, Nick Onaindia had a 2 yard touchdown run and Pesavento had a 30 yard touchdown pass to WR/DB, DeRonn Finley. The game ended at Blitz 32, Vipers 50.

After a bye week, the Blitz will be on the road in Washington to take on the Everett Hawks on Saturday, July 8. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
