
Arizona's Dawson Named NLL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Arizona Sting forward Dan Dawson captured both the NLL Overall Player of the Week and the NLL Offensive Player of the Week awards for his performance in a pair of games this past weekend.
Dawson totaled eight goals and four assists for 12 points and collected six loose balls in Week #2. In a 10-9 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Wings on Friday, Dawson scored three goals and added two assists for five points and collected three loose balls. On Saturday, Dawson tallied five goals and added two assists for seven points and collected three loose balls in a 16-15 win over Colorado.
Dallas Eliuk earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week #2. The Philadelphia Wings goaltender recorded 55 saves on 64 shots faced in a 10-9 overtime victory over the Arizona Sting. Eliuk did not play in Saturday's loss to the Anaheim Storm.
Ryan Boyle of the San Jose Stealth earned Rookie of the Week honors for his performance in his first time in NLL action this weekend. Boyle scored three goals and added six assists for nine points and collected twelve loose balls in a home and home series with the Calgary Roughnecks. Boyle scored one goal and added four assists for five points and collected three loose balls in a 12-10 road win over the Roughnecks on Friday. On Saturday at home Boyle scored two goals and added two assists for four points and collected nine loose balls in a 14-10 loss to Calgary.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Dan Dawson (Arizona) â (2GP, 8G, 4A, 12pts, 6 LB) scored three goals and added two assists for five points and collected three loose balls in a 10-9 overtime loss to Philadelphia Wings on Friday. Dawson also scored five goals and added two assists for seven points and collected three loose balls in a 16-15 win over Colorado on Saturday.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Dallas Eliuk (Philadelphia) â (55 saves, 9GA) recorded 55 saves on 64 shots faced in a 10-9 overtime victory over Arizona. Eliuk did not play in Saturday's game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Ryan Boyle (San Jose) â (2GP, 3G, 6A, 9pts, 12 loose balls) scored one goal and added four assists for five points and collected three loose balls in a 12-10 win over Calgary on Friday. Boyle also scored two goals and added two assists for four points and collected nine loose balls in a 14-10 loss to Calgary on Saturday.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's ten member clubs.
