Arizona Sundogs Even Conference Finals at One

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats faced off with the Arizona Sundogs for the second game in the Conference Finals on Saturday, April 19 at the Denver Coliseum. The Sundogs made a strong comeback in the second period to defeat the Cutthroats 4-3 and tie the Conference Finals at one.

A.J. Gale (Troy Schwab) fired a breakaway goal to the back of the Sundogs net to give the Cutthroats a 1-0 lead. Arizona's Shawn Limpright (Mike Forney, Paul McIlveen) responded with a shot between Denver's posts to tie the score at one. With four minutes remaining in the opening period, Kyle Fletcher (T.J. Fox, Cam Reid) scored a goal on the power play to reclaim the Cutthroats lead.

The Arizona Sundogs came back with a vengeance in the second period to take a two-goal advantage over the Denver Cutthroats. Alex Tuckerman (Tommy Maxwell) evened the score at two with a shot past Cutthroats netminder Kent Patterson. A goal by Justin Pender (David Rutherford, Forney) put the Sundogs up for the first time in the night. Teammate Alex Velischek (McIlveen, Bryan Cameron) extended Arizona's lead 4-2 with his first goal in the 2014 Playoffs.

Troy Schwab (Garett Bembridge, Fox) broke the crease to score the Cutthroats second power play goal of the night to trail the Sundogs by one. With six goals and seven assists in eight games, Schwab has earned at least one point in every game during the 2014 Playoffs. The Cutthroats were not able to match the Sundogs at four goals and fell 4-3. Saturday night's loss tied the Conference Finals series at one.

The Denver Cutthroats will head to Arizona for games three and four at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley on Tuesday, April 22 and Wednesday, April 23. The puck will drop at 6:35 PM PST both nights. For the latest information, visit
