Arizona Sting News Release
Glendale, Ariz: The Arizona Sting (3-3) suffered a blow to their defensive corps Tuesday morning, learning that defenseman Bruce Codd has suffered a fractured Tibula and will miss the remainder of the season. The injury occurred during the Sting's 15-6 defeat against the Calgary Roughnecks.
Codd was a key free agent pickup for Arizona this season, after spending last season with Ottawa. In six games, Codd registered one goal, five assists and 32 loose balls. Codd's solid defense and team leadership will be missed in the Sting locker room.
Codd, a fifth year veteran, enjoyed his best season during the 2001-02-campaign with Montreal where he compiled career highs in goals (9) and assists (36). In 56 career games, Codd has registered 22 goals, 61 assists, and collected 403 loose balls.
Arizona is in the process of replacing Codd on the 23-man roster and will return to action on Saturday, February 14 at Philadelphia.
