Klamath Falls OR, June 16, 2013: Wenatchee's bats came alive against Klamath Falls, pounding out 16 hits while breaking the Gems six game winning streak, and winning 12-2 at Paul Thomas Field in Wenatchee, WA on Sunday night. Gems starter Skye Adams (Central Washington University) was knocked out in the 4th inning, and took the loss, evening his record at 1-1.
Adam's college teammate Davis Engle (Central Washington University) pitched six impressive innings in his first season start, and earned the win. Chet Thompson (University of Portland) had two hits for the Gems, who were held to five hits-their lowest of the young season. Klamath Falls and Wenatchee play the series finale Monday night, with first pitch set for 7:05pm
The next Gems home game will be Monday, June 24th as the Gems host the Cowlitz Black Bears; with the first pitch at 6:35 pm. Monday's promotion is Kids Get in Free (sponsored by Kla-Mo-Ya Casino). Each Monday night game during the 2013 Gems season will be Kids Night.
