'Ants Prepare for Home Game Friday

Tupelo, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts are in the final stretch of the season, with only two regular season home games left. The FireAnts will hit the turf against the Lake Charles LandSharks this Friday night at the BancorpSouth Center starting at 7:00pm in a big game in the Atlantic Conference playoff race.

The Tupelo FireAnts come into this week's game in fifth place in the Atlantic Conference with an overall record of 7-5, and a 5-2 mark at home. The FireAnts are on a one-game losing streak after falling to the Fort Wayne Freedom by a score of 61-40 last Saturday night in Tupelo. The FireAnts have scored 58 points per game, while allowing 49. Tupelo is averaging 105 yards on the ground per game, with 156 through the air for a total of 261 yards of offense per game. Tupelo's defense has allowed 78 yards rushing per game, and 194 yards passing for a total of 272 yards of offense allowed per game, with a total of 18 sacks, 6 fumble recoveries, and 22 interceptions. For the season, the FireAnts have been penalized an average of 5 times for 34 yards per game.

The Lake Charles LandSharks come into this week's game in tenth place in the Atlantic Conference with an overall record of 5-7, including a 1-4 record on the road.
