MLR Week 7 Recap

The lads had a much deserved bye week after a frigid battle in Utah that ended with a 21-19 Gold victory. This past weekend saw a trio of highly entertaining Rugby matches take place. The Toronto Arrows found themselves down 17 points against the San Diego Legion through 51 minutes of play, but in a span of 14 minutes they turned that around and scored 24 unanswered. RUNY had a field day with the Utah defense scoring a staggering 47 points to the Warriors' 21 handing them their second straight loss. The Glendale Raptors defended home turf against Austin Elite Rugby keeping AER winless in their 2019 campaign. The win for the Raptors helped them jump from fifth to third in the standings. The Houston SaberCats and the Seattle Seawolves had a back in forth match that, on paper, had Houston controlling the ball in their opponent's territory for the majority of the match; but they couldn't hold on against the defending champions.

This weekend, the Gold will hit the road for a high octane matchup against the Houston SaberCats. The game is set for Saturday March 16 at 7 p.m. and will be played at Constellation Field.
