Puerto Rico Capitanes News Release
The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce that Puerto Rico Capitanes power forward Angelo Reyes has been named the PBL Player of the Week for January 4, 2009. In two victories over the Maryland GreenHawks, Reyes was the team's leading scorer and rebounder; in Saturday's 109-100 victory over Maryland, Reyes finished the night with 23 points and 20 rebounds. The second game that weekend, a 99-91 Capitanes victory over Maryland on Sunday night, saw Reyes drop 34 points in the hoop, and pull down 25 boards. The 25 rebounds Reyes accomplished in the Capitanes' second victory sets a single-game PBL record for most rebounds; the previous mark of 24 boards was set by Tearon Hill on March 5, 2008.
The PBL congratulates Angelo Reyes on being named Player of the Week.
