Angel City FC News Release
LOS ANGELES - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced today that defender Elizabeth Eddy has re-signed with the club through 2025. Eddy joined the club in 2023 after coming on as a National Team Replacement Player during the 2023 Women's World Cup.
"I am so excited to be returning to play for Angel City," said Eddy. "It is a dream come true to play for Coach Becki in my hometown for two more years. It's a one-in-a-million chance to continue growing as a player, help my team win games, and do everything to bring a championship home. Being able to do what you love and be near family is rare, and I am just so grateful."
"Elizabeth brings professionalism, veteran experience, and infectious joy to the game," said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. "We're fortunate to have her on our team and grateful that she decided to remain at home here with Angel City."
In 2023, Eddy appeared in six ACFC matches in all competitions for a total of 173 minutes on the pitch. She spent the first half of the 2023 NWSL season with Houston Dash after returning from playing internationally in 2021-2022 with the Newcastle Jets of the A-league in Australia. She has seven total years of NWSL experience and 95 appearances, having notched seven goals and six assists in her career.
A Newport Beach native, Eddy is a proud graduate of University of Southern California (USC), where she appeared in 76 career matches, recording 16 goals and nine assists for the Trojans. While at USC, Eddy was a dual-sport athlete in soccer and lacrosse. She also stands at No. 10 all-time in career goals scored for USC, earning All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, 2010 Pac-10 All-Freshman Team, 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Week, and 2013 USD All-Tournament Team honors.
