September 16, 2021 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) - Angel City FC News Release

The Female-Founded and Female-Led Organizations Are Committing to Reducing Food Waste and Promoting Food Recovery Through The Sponsorship

LOS ANGELES (September 15, 2021) - Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced Ritual as the team's official protein through the 2024 season. This partnership, the first-ever sponsorship for the LA-based personal health technology brand, will focus on helping support ACFC players while dedicating a portion of the sponsorship to fight food waste and hunger in the community.

"With the launch of our new traceable plant-based protein, we set out to challenge an industry and create a product that could both hold up to the standards that a professional athlete demands while also supporting people in their everyday routines. This partnership brings that mission to life. We're thrilled Essential Protein Daily Shake is now the official protein of ACFC and that together, we can support our community on and off the pitch," said Katerina Schneider, Founder and CEO of Ritual.

Ritual has reinvented the multivitamin and protein from the ground up to support nutritional needs of different members of the family.* Every product at Ritual starts with science, is developed based on thousands of independent research studies, and undergoes rigorous third-party testing to ensure each batch meets its high standards. All existing Ritual products are vegan-friendly, Non-GMO, gluten and major allergen free and are formulated without shady fillers or artificial colorants.

"Our partnership with Ritual is instrumental in delivering on our club's priority to provide clean, high-quality nutritional products for our players and coaches," said ACFC Vice President of Player Development & Operations Angela Hucles Mangano. "Ritual places precedence on the health and well-being of their consumers and we are excited to partner with them on the pitch and in the community."

Angel City players and coaches will utilize Ritual's Essential Protein Daily Shake, a clean, plant-based protein that contains 20g of sustainably sourced pea protein and key essential micro and macronutrients to help support bones, brains, and muscles.* It has a sugar-free handcrafted vanilla flavor and is the first of its kind sweetened with a combination of fermented sugarcane (Reb-M) and monk fruit. Essential Protein Daily Shake is Informed Sport Certified, vegan-friendly, and formulated without major allergens, GMOs, stevia, sugar alcohols, or artificial colors, flavor, or sweeteners. Additionally, Ritual will also provide Essential Prenatal and Essential Postnatal multivitamins for players and coaches as needed to help provide nutritional support before and during pregnancy as well as postpartum. Ritual's Essential Prenatal multivitamin is one of the top-selling prenatal multivitamins in the US. Not a reduced calorie food

With their shared goal of providing the best quality to the community, fans, and customers, Ritual and ACFC will utilize the Angel City Sponsorship Model to re-allocate a portion of the sponsorship value to Food Forward. The nonprofit organization brings fresh surplus fruits and vegetables to people experiencing food insecurity across eight counties in Southern California and tribal lands in Arizona and New Mexico. As part of the program, ACFC and Ritual communities, staff and representatives will have the opportunity to volunteer and power Food Forward's recovery work and support the fight in creating a future where everyone has access to healthy produce.

As the team's official protein partner, Ritual and ACFC will produce a "Day in the Life" content series focused on Angel City athletes. Additionally, Ritual will have a brand presence on game days at the home pitch, The Banc of California Stadium.
