
Andy Dirks Named FSL Player of The Week

Lakeland, FL - Former Lakeland Flying Tigers Outfielder Andy Dirks was named Player of the Week by the Florida State League (FSL) today. The selection was for the period of May 4-10.
During the week Dirks batted .714 collecting 10 hits in 14 at-bats. He walked four times, struck out once and had two stolen bases. Dirks' slugging percentage was .786 for the week. He was promoted to Double A Erie on May 8.
This is Dirks' first full professional season. He was selected by the Tigers in the eighth round of last year's June draft. He played in 13 games last season between the GCL Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps after playing college ball at Wichita State University.
